About Garwin
Garwin McNeilus was raised in the Dodge Center, Minnesota area and began his career as a construction worker, helping to build a ready-mix plant in Rochester, MN. In 1964, he built his own ready mix plant in Dodge Center. Garwin founded McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing in 1970, when he began buying, refurbishing, and selling used ready-mix trucks. By 1975, McNeilus Companies had developed a technology in manufacturing that they felt surpassed existing technology. MTM became the largest manufacturer of concrete mixers and refuse packers in the world. After selling the manufacturing company to Oshkosh Truck Corporation retirement was not in store for Garwin. He has been able to continue as well as expand on development of Orphanages and Schools in needy areas throughout the world. By 2000 he had opened a new office and taken a special partner, his grandson, Grant, into the wind power generation industry.
